Dhankesari Day Result
India's most loved & admired national Holiday, Dhanteras, Dassera, Bhaktapur Day, and Diwali are also known as Dhankesari Day in India. The origin of this name Dankesar is derived from a Punjabi phrase meaning 'three days'. The three days were arranged to celebrate the victory of Emperor Vikramaditya in the battle of Kharga (present day Agra in Uttar Pradesh).
The Dhankesari Day celebrations marked by various functions & events, festivities, & feasts were organized after the defeat of the invincible Mughal Emperor. According to Indian History, the period of Dhanteras was celebrated as a period of three days. The period was marked by prosperity and festivities and the gifts & offerings received were so auspicious.

Our ancestors have been playing an important role in shaping our society, our traditions & customs and today, keeping their footprints alive in the form of various legends, myths & beliefs. On this very special day of Dhanteras, the story of Dhamasaan (Dhwajan) and his wife Satya are linked. A very interesting paper linked with the Dhankesari Day Election Results was published in India's leading daily newspaper - The Indian Express.
The article written by Subodh Gupta, who is the secretary of the Hindu Parishad and head of the Indian Institute of Technology, Srinagar, states that 'Dhwajan was a merchant trader who had brought his wife and two daughters from Kerala, where he had lived for quite some time. He had retired as a successful trader and had a thriving tea business in Calcutta. Dhamasaan's eldest daughter, Satya, was in the habit of following her older brother Dhamasaan around and since she loved Dhamasaan very much, Dhamasaan disapproved of it. But when Satya began visiting the places where Dhamasaan used to spend his days, he began feeling the warmth of his old friend and requested him to help Satya and her sister in getting into the college of their choice, Dhankara in Srinagar.
This is what we see on the news today: the news report discusses how Satya and her sister Priyanka met their future husband Jai Praveer Thabir, on the auspicious occasion of Dhanterasha (end of Ramadan). As expected, the news soon reaches the national media, where people express their opinions, many of which are derogatory to the Hindu religion. Subodh Gupta, however, does not mince his words and says that if the marriage between Dhamasaan and Priyanka goes through, it will be the best event in the entire diwali (Ramadan) period. In fact, he even anticipates that there might be more such incidents in the future as the Muslims, due to their strict rules, are apprehensive about their treatment in India.
A few days later, news channels have finally reported on the story and mentioned that the lady's appeal was approved. Subodh Gupta tells us that now the ban on Dhamasaan has been lifted and she will now be able to marry Jai Praveer Thabirati. This news makes Subodh feel elated and makes him assure us that we would witness a lot more such incidents in the coming days, especially with the ongoing fifth week of Dankdays. Now that's what we call good news!
What's more, news channels have also reported that the lady who was rejected by the temple is now very much eligible for a position in the Indian government. In other words, she has been told that she is almost certainly going to be appointed as Governor of Assam. This news makes Subodh extremely happy because he knows that he has made a difference by winning the Daraka Dhankesari Day Election. It must be noted that many individuals from Bengal have won the Daraka Evening lottery in the past and there are numerous instances when Bengal has voted for the winning candidate from its five districts in the last few decades. If this lady manages to secure a position in the Indian government, it can only mean that our dear fieryo Subodh Banqueting will be elevated to a high level soon enough.
